E5. Nailed (Hard)

18 Aug

Objective: Survive 53 waves

I normally like to use the default towers in order to complete a level. On this level I had to break my own rule and select focus towers.

Towers Used

  • Focus
  • Splash
  • Laser
  • Scout
  • Generator
  • Slow

To defeat this map I started with focus towers, these work great but other towers need to be built before the squids start coming.

Again, having flame towers at the very beginning will wipe off around 50% of the enemies health, making it easier

In order to fund some of the more expensive towers and pay for their upgrade you should use the generators on the pink mist in the bottom right. Generators cost 100 resources, but you’ll get back 300. Use them early on.

Finally I used laser towers. Their long range was invaluable during the last waves when you’re faced with wave after wave if squids, using laser and scout towers you’ll be able to fight them from a distance.

Building laser towers at the intersections will offer a large amount of fire power down the straights.

You may find it helpful to build a couple of splash towers in the upper right corner to ward off any quick moving enemies that happen to get past everyone else. This will help you complete the level without losing any lives.

Still can’t get this level 😦

Tried any combination of slow/flame/range/laser towers, no luck 😦

Any tactical spots to be ?

Molive, I found that concentrating your fire power at the beginning of the level where the enemies first enter the map is generally the best solution of this type of level. All your other towers can then be used to eliminate any of the faster or hardy enemies that get through your initial kill zone.

Rob I think you meant to have flame tower and not slow in your description. There’s only room for six weapons. Also did you take two different screen shots for the 1st and second picture? There’s a focus tower missing in the 2nd screen shot.

I’m still working on this one, pretty tough!

Indeed, a very, very tough one… Tried every possible combinations and still no luck 😦
Are there cheatcodes somewhere so I can just skip this particular level ? πŸ˜‰

By level 46 I am repeatedly set up with EXACTLY your tower setup, on Normal difficulty, and I cannot move forward. Every one of my towers is covered in Green Goo and about half of the wave gets through.

How’s this for odd. After more attempts than I can count, I wrote up the above entry, and on my very next try I managed to pull it off. 2 lives left, but I pulled it off.

this level is easy, have no towers anywhere near the start (they wont get frozen then) place 3 laser tower in a row starting from the top most resource spot (yes you loose one of your resource spots but worth it) then have them shoot at the crystal rock to the left of the threee lasers, they will shoot continuously then entiree game taking out the pesky minions that freeze your towers before they get anywhere. near them. seems any combination of towers later on in the level clean up what gets throught the lasers!

I used the 50% power buff, on easy, and still only managed to win with 3 lives left. Thank you Laser Jim… I’m pretty sure I would have gotten frustrated and stopped playing the game if not for your strategy. I had 4 lasers pointing down that run.

As it stands, I hope there are no more levels like this one. It’s the only level I’ve gone to the web to find a solution for.

Along the bottom place 4 of the laser towers that shoot right across the screen. Then get them to shoot the mineral rock to the left of them along the bottom walk way. Kills blobs without hurting the shooter, but make sure none of ur other guns can hit that rock or ur buggered. Do this after a basic early set up to catch stragglers then Max all 4 lasers out.. You will need heavy other defenses up the middle for the last wave as the lasers that kill the other monsters are useless against the big boys!

The laser thing is great stuff! I pulled through with huge amounts of spread out scouts, splashes in the slow corners and some lasers in the intersections.
